My name is Earl Showalter and I currently serve as Board Chairman at Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center (HCPAC).

I came to Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center, formerly Greater Harrisburg Youth for Christ (YFC), as a volunteer in the fall of 1972. Throughout the last 47 years, I have served as a technician, a designer, an electrician, a board member and as the board chairman. My children have participated in the YFC programs, volunteered on work and theatre projects, and served on the staff. My wife, Sue, has served as a volunteer and as a board member.

Over the years, many things have changed at YFC, including our name. But thanks to our generous donors, one thing has not changed and that is our commitment to impact the lives of young people. Our mission at HCPAC is to provide quality theatrical experiences while training students and young adults with skills for the STAGE of life. Because we believe that placing Jesus center-stage is the most important element of being prepared for the stage of life, we strive to create an environment that allows our young people to discover a relationship with Jesus, while loving them regardless of their response.

This year, through your support, we have been able to impact the lives of hundreds of young people, expand our reach to local public schools, serve with community youth art programs and work alongside local churches as well as organizations such as the Salvation Army. None of that would be possible without the generous support of people like you!

Each month, students come to HCPAC looking for a place to belong, a place where they will be welcomed, and many of those students come from homes without the financial means to pay the required participation registration fees. This month alone, over a dozen students are participating in our programming without the ability to pay. Because of support from donors like you, we are able to welcome these students, provide all the materials they need to participate in the given production, gift them with a shirt and professional pictures to remember the experience and many times provide transportation to and from rehearsals.

Our goal is to continue welcoming every student that desires to participate in the programming at HCPAC but we can’t do that alone. We need your help to continue providing quality theatrical experiences for all students. As 2019 comes to a close, we desperately need to raise funds to provide sponsorships to students in need. This Christmas, would you consider making a tax deductible donation of $363, making it possible for HCPAC to provide three student theatrical experiences?

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

EARL SHOWALTER
HCPAC Board Chairman

P.S. Your tax deductible donation of any amount will help HCPAC continue to provide quality theatrical experiences while training students and young adults with skills for the STAGE of life!

Yes! I want to make it possible for all students to participate in the programming at HCPAC.
